What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Swim Team Coach position at City of Kirkwood?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for administering all swim team operations of daily workouts, team communication, and supervision of assistant coaches.
- Attends all swim team functions, including but not limited to practices, meets, and coach/parent meetings.
- Responsible for the management of swim meets, enforcing rules, and maintaining safety and enjoyment for all participants.
- Design, write, and facilitate workouts and complete swim meet name entries.
- Actively and positively promotes the sport of swimming.
- Communicates frequently with participants, parents, and team representatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to swim and have basic swim coach experience.
- Must have basic knowledge of the four basic strokes of competitive swimming.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational skills a plus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily done in an outdoor pool setting. Primarily scheduled in the mornings, with some evenings during the week. Expected to work 5 days per week with varying work schedule.
