HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Supervise and coordinate the administrative functions of the utility billing and customer service division of the Finance Department that is responsible for billing, collecting and processing all utility payments received by the city through the mail, drop box, online and in-person. Supervise and act as backup to the customer service associates in addressing inquiries from customers/citizens regarding Kirkwood Electric, Water, Sanitation, Parks & Recreation and general inquiries received on a daily basis via phone and in-person. Provide quality customer service for our customers/citizens. Train, motivate and assist customer service associates. This is a hands-on working supervisory position.


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

A High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Strong bookkeeping and cash handling skills. Knowledge of business collection and billing procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with the public. The ability to respond to inquiries from both manual records as well as computerized databases. Ten key experience. Experience supervising, preferably in a billing/collections environment. Strong organizational skills with an aptitude for details. The ability to work within established deadlines and operate office equipment such as computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines in addition to Microsoft Office programs.
