What are the responsibilities and job description for the Probation Officer - Traffic Court position at City of Little Rock?
JOB OBJECTIVE: To monitor and document the progress of Traffic Court defendant’s probation and ensure compliance with the terms of their probation, to include reporting, payment of fines and fees, completion of community service work and completion of required courses, treatment programs and other conditions of probation.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
For a complete list of essential job functions, please click HERE.These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field, one (1) year of experience in probation, law enforcement, counseling, or a related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess certification as Specialized Police Personnel within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
