The Public Works Supervisor - Trees will oversee the planning, coordination, and supervision of tree maintenance and management programs for the City of Menlo Park. Responsibilities include leading and directing tree maintenance staff, managing the pruning, planting, and removal of city trees, monitoring the health and safety of urban forestry, and maintaining compliance with city policies and environmental regulations. The Supervisor will work collaboratively with city departments, contractors, and community members to enhance the city’s tree-lined aesthetics. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Menlo Park, CA.
- Proficiency in overseeing tree care and maintenance, including pruning, planting, and removal of trees, as well as maintaining urban forestry health
- Strong leadership and team-management skills to supervise staff and coordinate projects effectively
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices for tree management and urban planning
- Experience in public works operations, budgeting, and project management
