Summary

This position is needed during the heavy downtown event season which runs from May through September. This position will assist in a variety of tasks associated with coordinating, marketing, and executing downtown events including managing scheduled entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, developing and posting to social media sites, website updates, distributing information and general office duties.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing for events by preparing and distributing event materials.
  • Developing and posting to social media sites and website updates.
  • Event inventory management including preparing materials before events and replacing and restocking inventory post-event.
  • Taking pictures to document events.
  • Assist with coordinating printing and mailing activities (copying, stuffing, labels, etc.)
  • Includes evening and weekend activities and assisting entertainment with arrival, setup and timely execution of entertainment responsibilities.
  • Phone coverage and general office duties.

Required Knowledge and Abilities

General Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record;
  • Must pass a physical, drug screen, and criminal background check;
  • Must be able to work outside and perform some heavy lifting as needed;
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in formulating, planning, organizing and promoting events or activities;
  • Some marketing experience preferred;
  • Good human relations skills with a strong customer satisfaction ethic;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • General office skills with experience using office software.

Additional Information

Pay rate is $16.25/hour.

25 - 35 hours per week.

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Weekends as needed
