ABOUT THIS POSITION


The mission of the Phoenix Police Department is to build and foster strong relationships with the community through our outreach and engagement, while adhering to the highest standards and traditions of the Phoenix Police Department. Police Aides perform clerical duties in the day-to-day operations at police precincts and provide the first point of contact for citizens. Responsibilities include greeting citizens; responding to routine and emergency inquiries in person and over the telephone; ensuring the precinct vehicle fleet is properly maintained and ready for each shift; accurately entering information into police databases; maintaining department supplies and equipment; and other administrative duties.

Work schedule: positions are available to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Work location: 12220 N. 39th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85029

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Familiar with using CAD.
  • Familiar with using SharePoint.

SALARY


Pay and Hiring Range: $16.47 to $22.08 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to perform routine clerical work.
  • Six months of public contact or customer assistance experience.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

  • Positions in the Police Department must meet the background standards that are appropriate to non-sworn positions. The general factors for disqualification are listed here.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience processing subpoenas.
  • Experience using eProcurement (SAP).
  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience staffing a reception desk and answering a multi-line telephone system.
