General Application Requirements:

- A current, valid Class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License at the time of filing application or prior to appointment, which must be maintained throughout employment. Qualifying Requirements:
Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed, and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will be sent an eligibility letter regarding your eligible/ineligible status.
- WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show a minimum of six (6) months of experience in traffic control, pavement marking and basic sign installation/repair knowledge.
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: None required.
- EQUIVALENCY: None permitted for this position. Therefore, no education/training and/or work experience may be substituted toward the qualifying requirements listed above.

- Participates in various projects or tasks requiring physical labor (e.g., installing and removing signs, installing and removing pavement markings, placing cones, traffic control, routine shop and tool maintenance, vehicle maintenance, etc.)
- Loads and unloads materials, supplies, equipment, trash and other debris; may use hand pallet or forklift.
- Verifies materials, supplies, equipment, etc. received by checking shipping and/or packaging documents, and inspects items for damages.
- Salts sidewalks, steps and removes snow.
- Assists Sign & Paint Maintenance Specialists with sign and marking installation.
Performs simple construction jobs (e.g., barricades, fences, etc).
Cleans buildings, offices, restrooms, and the surrounding grounds.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools, equipment and pionjars, etc.
May operate fueling stations (e.g., refuels City vehicles, completes and maintains records of gasoline, oil and other fluids used).
May drive trucks of one ton or less in daily routine.
May be required to assemble equipment or goods received.
May work shifts, weekends and holidays.
Performs routine maintenance of equipment (e.g., compressors, pionjars, paint machines, drills, etc).
Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
