What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Services Librarian/Bookmobile position at City of Sidney?
The City of Sidney is accepting applications for a friendly, customer-service oriented person to serve as Adult
Services Librarian and run the Bookmobile at the Sidney Public Library. The individual will be responsible for maintaining adult library collection by selecting and maintaining books, DVDs, and CDs. Delivers professional quality library service to bookmobile patrons. Must be motivated and dependable.
Required responsibilities:
· Promote and plan programs for adult library users.
· Operation and scheduling of bookmobile, including: selection of materials, rotation of scheduled stop, routine record-keeping and maintenance for scheduled service and repair, personal and patron safety with regard to the bookmobile.
· Adhere to and follow established policies and procedures.
· Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours.
Minimum Requirements
Must have High School Diploma or GED.
Experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
A valid Nebraska Driver’s license.
Must be able to pass the Basic Skills courses required by the Nebraska Library Commission for librarian certification.
Important Info
· Typical work week is 40 hours, including evenings and weekends, one-hour lunch, limited over-time.
· Bi-weekly pay schedule.
· Benefits include retirement (available the next quarter after 1000 hours of service), health and dental insurance (available the next month after working a full 30 days), life insurance and paid holidays.
· Pre-employment and on-going random drug testing.
· Beginning wage $16.87 to $22.88 per hour depending on qualifications.
