What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems/PC Analyst II position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is professional, technical, operational and analytical work involving the installation, operation, repair, and ongoing support of data communications networks accessing the local and remote sites with multiple department network nodes, paths, and single or multiple department file servers and personal computer applications. Work includes planning of network topology, hubs, and gateway locations and interfaces for the department’s local area networks, the implementation of network operating system software along with upgrades and software fixes, optimization of network performance and integration of departmental local area networks into the City-wide area enterprise network, providing superior technical support, identifying process improvements based on needs and troubleshooting, and providing support for systems and applications. An employee in this class coordinates efforts with other city technicians and department-wide PC users.
Salary: $70,566 - $113,056

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by two (2) years of college coursework in computer science, programming, network administration or related field supplemented by formal training.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Have at least two years’ experience in corporate network and systems administration.
- Have experience working with data backup and recovery systems.
- Have experience working with storage area networks.
- Have previous experience providing end user support.
- Be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have a valid Bachelor’s degree.
- Have Certified Network Engineer training.
- Have at least two years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server administration.
- Have industry certifications such as MCP/MCSE/MCSA/CCNA/CCNP/EI.
