The City of Steamboat is hiring seasonal Trails Workers for the 2024 season! Work as part of a team to maintain, repair and construct trails throughout Steamboat Springs. Hiring will begin in March and positions will run from late April through late September/early October. Flexible to accommodate a variety of schedules/availability throughout the season.
Seasonal employee housing may be available.The Open Space and Trails crew will work on a variety of projects including:
Willingness to learn new skills and contribute to a productive, fun, and safe team environment. Must be prepared for working up to 10 hour days outside and hiking several miles while carrying tools and equipment. Some weekend work will be required on a rotating basis. Must have valid driver’s license. Previous trails experience preferred but not required.

Compensation range is $21.12 - $25.67/hour and placement within the range is dependent upon relevant experience, certifications, and qualifications.

- Trail maintenance and construction projects throughout the city including the Emerald Mountain trail network, the Core trail, Spring Creek trails, and neighborhood connector trails
- Maintenance along the Yampa River Core Trail including mowing, emptying trashcans, and removing graffiti
- Noxious weed management on trails and in open space areas
- Assisting with maintenance of bike park features at Bear River Bike Park
