What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Inspector - Development Services position at City of Topeka?
The City of Topeka is seeking a qualified Electrical Inspector. This position will be filled at either an entry-level or certified level based on qualifications. Inspecting residential and commercial construction and investigating complaints, the Electrical Inspector works to secure compliance with municipal ordinances and regulations governing the electrical code. Writes related reports and letters, prepares written violation notices and follows through until compliance has been attained and works with individuals to help them resolve concerns and/or problems. Position hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Minimum qualifications:
- Journeyman electrician.
- A combination of field experience and training equivalent to the above.
- Experience / Knowledge of Elevator inspection highly desirable.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Kansas driver’s license and city insurable driving record.
$19.79 - $22.81 per hour depending on qualifications.
