$1,000 Sign-on Bonus thru December 31, 2024
The purpose of this position is to maintain trees in city parks, grounds and roadways. This is accomplished by trimming, planting and removing trees, operating light and heavy equipment, aide in ensuring site safety for pedestrians and crew and responding to emergency after hours calls. Other duties include acting crew leader during emergency events, assisting with special projects, national disasters, trimming the Christmas tree, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and assisting other departments as needed.
$1,000 Sign-on Bonus Details :
- To be paid to new Tree Trimmers hired before December 31, 2024
- The sign-on bonus will be distributed in two payments:
- $500 – to be received on the employee's first paycheck.
- $500 – to be received the first pay period following 90 days of employment.
JOB DUTIES:
- Maintains trees by removing dead and hazardous limbs; pruning and raising limbs over walk ways; roping tree limbs; using aerial bucket trucks, chainsaws, and brush chippers; and raking and cleaning debris.
- Removes and plants trees by roping tress, operating machinery and vehicles, digging, staking trees, and raking and cleaning debris.
- Assists other departments and maintains equipment by assisting during special events and projects, and performs preventative maintenance on all equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge is equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
- Minimum of one year of relative experience
- Class B CDL or ability to obtain within one year.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerting 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position generally requires work outdoors and in a vehicle.
