SEASONAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I
DIVISION OF YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES
CITY OF WORCESTER
The Seasonal Administrative Assistant I (Programming Lead) will support the Recreation Leads and Assistant Leads in hiring efforts for Recreation Worcester seasonal staff. This position responsibilities include rating applications, candidate interviews, and track and finalize hiring packages, while simultaneously working with the Division of Youth Opportunities Data Specialist/Assistant Program Coordinator to complete payroll for all seasonal staff.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to build relationships and networking skills with students, colleagues, and community members
- Ability to work with youth of diverse backgrounds aged 16-24
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of previous administrative work experience in an office setting
- Must pass a criminal background check (CORI & SORI)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities
- Experience facilitating activities and programming
STARTING SALARY: $18.00 per hour, part-time, temporary, non-benefitted
