Sanitation Attendant

SUMMARY: Assists in the maintenance of gardens and grounds throughout City Park.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):

• Summary: Assists with keeping the park grounds free of trash and debris as well as maintaining the cleanliness of various shelters and bathrooms around the park. .
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
• Pickup and removal of all loose paper and debris in assigned area
• Emptying of all trash and recycle bins in assigned area
• Removal of all debris, including tree branches, tires, dead animals, furniture, car parts and any other unwanted debris that is left on park grounds.
• Reporting of graffiti, large debris, or other unwanted items on park grounds so they are immediately addressed
• Cleaning and maintenance of all shelters, bathrooms and other facilities in assigned areas
• Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and tools used throughout the daily course of work
• Cleaning of drains and catch basins
• Operates City Park equipment including but not limited to vehicles, small garden tractors, small engine machines and other equipment necessary
• Assisting other team members and departments as necessary

Qualifications and education requirements:

• A valid Louisiana driver’s license.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
