Work Location:100% On-Site Position Overview Reporting directly to the Director of Learning and Development (L&D), the Impact Coach ensures through training, coaching, content development and collaboration that the Impact Department is delivering high-quality services that ultimately increase student achievement. The Impact Coach leverages their educational background and influential leadership to develop and improve the implementation skills of AmeriCorps members and full-time staff members that serve across 13 elementary, middle and high schools in East San Jose. The Impact Coach continually assesses the service quality with both quantitative and qualitative measures and provide trainings responsive to identified member’s needs from that data. The Impact Coach’s responsibilities will be split between field-based and office-based work, the majority spent in the field. Job Description Responsibilities Field Service Impact & Evaluation Perform on-site coaching and training to Impact Managers and Team Leaders around service implementation (math and literacy tutoring, classroom management, City Year coursework frameworks, use of data, planning, behavior coaching, etc.), use of service tools, leadership, and general work in schools (teacher relationships, student relationships, etc.) Work collaboratively with Evaluation Analyst in assessing impact specifically in student growth, coaching, and content training. Work collaboratively with Impact Directors to ensure progress against goals leveraging data analysis and effective coaching. Staff and Corps Member Learning and Development Develop/refine coaching model content for an Impact Department of nearly 150 staff and AmeriCorps members to ensure instructional excellence. Execute high-quality, relevant content and coaching training for AmeriCorps members and staff learning ensuring alignment to learning calendar while remaining responsive to needs and service priorities. Work collaboratively with L&D Manager on leadership/managerial training for Impact Department staff and Team Leaders. Share instructional best practices with Impact staff around service excellence and impact. Impact Department Development and Design Assist Director of L&D in developing/refining service model implementation and training content in response to data trends and observed needs. Provide data/research driven insight to the Director of L&D that informs the development, innovation and enhancement of service model designs/frameworks for 13 elementary, middle and high schools, annually impacting over 7,000 students. Engage in assigned partnerships within City Year and external that may advance our sites service model. * Other special projects and administrative tasks, as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in teaching, English Language Arts, Math, education or related field strongly preferred. 3 years of teaching, educational instruction, and/or instructional coaching experience (preferably in English Language Arts or Math). Experience with Adult Learning is preferred. Experience at the Middle School level a plus. Experience with STEAM is preferred. Experience with English Language Learners and/or special education preferred. Knowledge of Common Core Standards and RtI.
