The Director of Finance is responsible for the coordination of the company’s financial records and day-to-day financial matters. This role will develop and implement systems and procedures required for effective operations and timely fiscal monitoring and reporting. The Director of Finance will report to the CFO, and work closely and actively with all departments at the resort and corporate to ensure compliance with the budget, fiscal responsibility and success of the company.
As a Director of Finance you will be responsible for:
- Preparing accurate and timely, internal and external, financial reports for the company
- Overseeing monthly financial operations
- Leading, managing, and holding a team of four direct reports accountable
- Template maintenance and controls (Check books)
- Fixed Asset Depreciation Schedules
- Handling cash deposits
- Measuring and managing monthly financial performance
- Working with Experience Delivery team to ensure financial compliance and performance
- Assisting in preparation of the monthly forecast
- Assisting in tracking company incentive and bonus plans
- Assisting in preparation of cash flow analysis
- Preparing reports and documentation for all audits; managing the outside auditors
- Annual audit, tax returns and preparation of K-1’s
- 401(k) audit, Worker’s Compensation, etc.
- Assisting in preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly tax filings
- Monitoring accounts and requirement which require special attention, e.g., fixed assets, construction in progress, restricted cash, debt service coverage ratio, etc.
- Maintaining, monitoring and reviewing various contracts and making recommendations where appropriate (equipment leases, corporate partnerships, insurance requirements, etc.)
- Keeping GM/CFO and senior management team apprised of all significant financial developments
- Managing the annual budget preparation process
- Preparing all balance sheet reconciliations
- Attending all management meetings as necessary
- Directing the company’s financial and accounting functions including but not limited to: General Ledger, Income Audit, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable
- Completing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum of five years experience in finance, ideally related experience in hospitality
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel
- Strong PC skills to include Word, Opera, M3 and back office/financial accounting systems
- Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spreadsheets and complex technical information
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to participate in senior management meeting and make presentations on financial matters
