Quality Control Manager Job Description The qualified Quality Control Manager will ensure the project is built within contract document specifications, owner requirements, and comply with local, state and federal building codes. The Quality Control Manager will coordinate with other trades, process daily reports of project progress and adhere to all guidelines issued by owner. Responsibilities: Partner with the project team to understand the contract document specifications in their discipline. Work in conjunction with the owner and with the field staff to ensure quality and timeliness of project construction and completion. Manage inspections process. Coordinate third party testing agents as outlined in the quality control plan. Implement and manage the Quality Control Plan. Oversee submittal review and approval. Establish testing procedures in accordance with contract specifications. Closely track and maintain a project deficiency log. Manage the punchlist process. Manage the “Three Phases of Control” Control documents related to quality control functions. Schedule and conduct quality control meetings - Preparatory, Initial Phase, Follow-up. Confer directly with executive management team. Interface with Owner’s representative as required and Inspector of Record on a daily basis. Encourage, lead, and/or participate in staff training and development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience One of the following: Architect currently licensed in the State of California DSA Inspector Class 1 or 2 with a current California State Certification ICC or OSHPD Inspector with a current California State Certification Construction Contractor or superintendent (or similar position/function) with a minimum of 10 years of documentable training and field experience on building construction projects including school projects or hospitals under the jurisdiction of DSA or OSHPD. 8 years construction quality control and/or inspection experience. Experience in large scale construction management or construction trade with increasing levels of responsibility. Must be able to manage other inspectors and submittal clerks, as well as coordinate independent material testing and lab work. Ability to process a large volume of submittals / RFCs. Prior experience developing and managing Quality Control Plans. Base salaries will be determined by factors such as geographic location, education, skills, experience, and market considerations. For this role the base salary range is $83,200-208,000.
