Clayton Services is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a thriving company in Northwest Houston. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and implementing instrument design, data sheets, hook-up diagrams, and functional descriptions, and, when required, designing code-compliant industrial control panels.

Pay Rate: $80,000 - $90,000/annually
Travel: 25 - 30% project-related travel

Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive review and implementation of instrument designs, data sheets, hook-up diagrams, and functional descriptions, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
Collaborate closely with project management, project engineering, and mechanical design teams to optimize designs, meet customer requirements, and minimize manufacturing costs.
Develop and meticulously maintain accurate Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).
Utilize AUTOCAD to create a comprehensive Electrical Drawing Package for the mechanical process, encompassing instrument specifications, data sheets, hook-up diagrams, enclosure design and layout drawings, schematic diagrams, and enclosure Bill of Material.
Coordinate effectively with major industrial control system vendors and instrument suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
Expertly specify instrumentation suitable for classified zones, such as Class II, Division 2 environments, or ATEX, while strictly adhering to established guidelines, instructions, policies, and procedures.
Electrical Design Engineer Skills and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of NFPA and UL electrical codes.
Excellent computer skills (MS Office Word and Excel, ERP, AutoCAD, etc.)
Electrical Design Engineer Education and Experience:
B.S. in Electrical or Automation Engineering or a similar BS degree.
5 of experience in industrial controls and electrical design.
Design experience with Motor Control Center (MCC)
