Job Description:
Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can make a difference in animal welfare and food safety? Join our team as a Trailer Wash Technician! You'll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles and equipment meet the highest standards. No prior experience is necessary; we provide training!
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and Disinfect Vehicles:
- Wash and disinfect PV transport tractors and trailers following CFG/USDA Animal Welfare and Food Safety Policies.
- Clean external customer tractors and trailers as requested.
- Operate Equipment:
- Use the Bio-Dryer in accordance with CFG/USDA guidelines.
- Maintain Biosecurity:
- Follow strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease transmission.
- Wet mop and wash clothes as part of disease prevention measures.
- Supply Management:
- Order necessary supplies, including soaps, disinfectants, and cleaning materials.
- Travel and Coverage:
- Be willing to travel out of state for up to 2 weeks for training or to assist at other facilities. All expenses are covered.
- Cover for the lead technician during absences.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure trailers are thoroughly cleaned and inspect them after washing.
- Operate and maintain the separator and manage pit levels.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
- Language Skills: Must be able to read and understand English documents and communicate effectively with team members.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills are required, including the ability to work with Metric and Standard units.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions and solve problems in standard situations.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A valid driver's license is required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands frequently. Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat.
- Occasionally exposed to high places, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration.
- The noise level is usually loud.
