Summary of Position

Reporting to the Senior Production Manager or Director of Manufacturing, the Production Manager manages a team of production supervisors who (a) oversee a production shift and (b) manage the personnel, and production and packaging processes of donuts across multiple production lines ensuring that operational performance meets or exceeds standards and goals.

Shift: FIRST SHIFT / 1:30am - 10:30am

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Plan and direct plant activities to achieve annual business plan objectives - meeting or exceeding operational KPI targets.
• Conduct daily disciplined review of KPIs in Redzone. Analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports and metrics to determine root causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Observe operations and inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Develop and lead a high-performing team of production supervisors. Assist production supervisors as needed in problem solving and the tactical execution of their daily operational responsibilities.
• Maintain a substantial “on the floor” presence. Act with energy and optimism to instill a positive and professional team culture committed to productivity, continuous improvement, safety, food safety, quality, and good employee relations.
• Work cross functionally as needed with maintenance, quality, food safety, safety, and human resources teams, to obtain and optimize resources. Partner closely with quality, food safety and safety leaders to ensure compliance to standards and improvement in outcomes for product quality, food safety and employee safety.
• Ensure supervisors promptly (a) address performance issues and hold employees accountable for results, (b) address personal complaints to resolve problems, (c) keep employees informed, and (d) train employees to standards.
• Monitor and enforce safe work standards and procedures. Complete daily safety inspection. Conduct toolbox talks and accident investigations; implementing re-training and corrective actions. Maintain plant floor organization and good housekeeping.
• Monitor, enforce, and comply with food safety/ quality requirements and GMPs; reporting issues to the Director of Food Safety or Director of Quality.
• Master Company policies, procedures and cultural norms and hold team accountable for compliance with the letter and spirit of these requirements acting as a role model and coach.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience managing people.
• Food processing or packaging experience in an automated, high-speed packaging environment.
• Good working knowledge of GMP’s, SQF, safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to analyze data, reports and plant performance working methodically through challenges.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Preferred: Working knowledge and practical experience in LEAN.
• Preferred: Spanish helpful but not required.

We Offer

Target compensation estimates are provided in good faith at the time of job posting. Job offers may vary based on the candidate’s education, certifications, job-related knowledge, skill, experience, geographic location, shift, and internal equity. Clyde’s may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

• Target base salary range: $105,000 to $120,000
• Target total compensation range: $115,500 to $132,000

These conditions are common to Production Managers.

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Exposure to extreme hot conditions on such equipment as operating fryers and extreme cold conditions such as blast spiral freezers.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
• Standing and walking on slippery floors.
• Working in close proximity to equipment and other employees.
• Lifting of up to 50 pounds and movement of equipment.
