The Institutional Accounting Specialist performs investment accounting and analytical functions necessary to ensure proper valuation of portfolios investing in a broad range of investment strategies. What will our next extraordinary teammate do? You will complete sophisticated daily assignments in accordance with established procedures and maintains procedures documentation. You will perform reconciliations and analysis of differences; inputs and validates various components of net asset calculation and performs analysis for multiple separate accounts, sub-advised, and pooled investment vehicle accounting records. You will identify, investigate, resolve, and escalate reconciling items and exceptions related to the cash and currency reconciliations, corporate actions, security valuations, net asset reconciliations, security holdings, dividend and interest accruals, and investable cash projections. You will validate and input client cash flows and make appropriate estimated entries into the portfolio management systems as needed. You will complete all monthly and quarterly deliverables both for internal and external clients (within tight deadlines). Preparing documentation for year-end audits. You will assist with the onboarding of new clients and deconversion of existing clients to include but not limited to processing in-kind trades. You will communicate effectively with portfolio managers, traders, team members, vendors, and other external/internal customers. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field. 3 years of relevant work experience. Mutual fund accounting or fund administration experience with knowledge of investment accounting operations. Cash reconciliation, general ledger, security master knowledge, and exposure to derivatives is preferred. Strong technological aptitude and application Working Conditions Normal business hours for this position will be 7:30 am CST to 5:15 pm CST. Normal office conditions and team responsibilities include early and late rotations that range from starting at 7:00 am or ending at ~7:00pm. Work hours may extend beyond normal hours based on delays relating to the end of day processes. In addition, after hours and/or non-business day work may be necessary on occasion for coverage of periodic events and special transactions.
