SUMMARY
Responsible for financial and operational analysis projects designed to assist management in better understanding the financial data that drives our business, improves budgeting, and real-time monitoring of performance, to enable operations and management to make better and timely decisions. This position may be hybrid-remote, but the selected candidate will be required to work in our office a minimum of two days per week. Our offices are located in downtown Anchorage or Eastlake area on Lake Union in Seattle.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This is a newly created position and does not supervise any staff (i.e. this is a hands-on, working position).
The position will have a high degree of autonomy and decision making in how best to complete the job duties.
There is NO USER MANUAL for this position. It requires someone who can think critically and creatively to develop working models to assist with operational decision making.
Cross-department coordination
- Work directly with executive team to prioritize projects
- Work directly with operations and others to clearly understand process flow and production issues
- Work directly with accounting department staff to understand data inputs and outputs
- Coordinate with IT to understand software capabilities and data extraction tools available
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to facilitate project requests
Development of working models and software tools to aid in:
- Budgetary and operational decisions (lease vs fish, purchase new asset/investment)
- Financial and cash-flow projections for internal and external use
- Other production or performance measures modeling
Reporting
- Produce monthly operating and capital forecasts to compare with budget/actual results
- Prepare monthly operational production and financial reports for internal management use
- Develop other reports based on performance measures
- Periodic reports to the board of directors, as requested
- Ad-hoc reporting, as requested
Accounting Support
- Work collaboratively with accounting / operations to work towards consistent and efficient coding treatment. Develop and deploy training materials as needed. Participate in software conversion project.
Other projects as needed / other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
MBA or other master’s degree (operations management, accounting, finance, economics) and 4 years related experience required. Thorough understanding of business processes, production management and accounting, and financing is required. Significant working experience with Microsoft Excel is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience is a plus. Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial and business analysis to non-financial stakeholders. Must have the ability to work in a highly dynamic work environment with ability to critically think, problem-solve, and adapt to frequently shifting priorities. A high regard for accuracy and attention to detail, along with strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to sit, be able to effectively use hands and fingers, and talk and listen. Will be occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
