What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Proctor: Part-Time Evening/Weekend position at College of Eastern Idaho?
Job Summary
The Test Proctor will perform general office duties to include the monitoring of exams, signing candidates in/out of exams, and other customer service related tasks as needed.
The Testing Center is open a wide variety of hours to accommodate student and candidate needs, so those interested must be able to work mainly evenings and Saturdays as needed to staff the center. Schedules will vary depending on the need of the department.
Typical Job Functions
- Proctor exams by actively monitoring candidate activity
- Perform check-in process for candidates
- Answer testing center phone and email
- Represent CEI and exam sponsors in a professional manner
- Present a calm presence in a highly stressful environment
- Assist candidates with exam registration

Open and/or close the Testing Center as needed
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn’t sponsor H-1B Visas)
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish)

Experience:
- Previous experience in an education environment, with experience in a post-secondary education environment preferred
- Administering online and paper exams at either the secondary or post-secondary level

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Idaho post-secondary education policies and procedures such as FERPA
- Ability to multi-task in potentially high stress situations
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of basic computer software and programs
- One year experience working in a post-secondary education environment
- Bilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
Background Investigations:
Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
