Special Education Case Manager/Teacher
Colorado High School Charter is seeking a Special Education Case Manager/Teacher at our GES Campus in Denver, CO, for the 2022-23 school year. Colorado High School Charter is a grades 9-12 public charter school in Denver, whose mission is to transform the alternative education experience by igniting the potential within each of the diverse young people we serve. CHSC is one of the leading alternative education campuses in Denver, with student achievement data consistently showing notable growth.
The Special Education Case Manager/Teacher supports students who need physical, emotional, or educational accommodations/modifications in academic and social development by providing structural and classroom supports.
Job Description
- Implement, develop, and refine special education policies and procedures grounded in research-based best practices
- Manage RTI process to identify and support students with disabilities
- IEP development, administration, and implementation
- Lead weekly meetings of the Student Support Team to organize caseloads, problem-solve difficult situations, and maintain effective IEP processes for students and families.
- Support General Education teachers in the quality implementation of IEPs and provide professional development to continually refine and further individualized student supports
- Support School Leadership Team and consult on decisions impacting students with disabilities
- Direct support and service hours with students with IEPs through small group intervention and/or co-teaching, teach 1-2 support classes per quarter for students with IEP’s or 504’s
- Build self-advocacy and 21st century skills with students
- Establish and maintain engagement and communication with families
- Coordinate with Denver Public Schools to ensure compliance with state requirements and standards, including monitoring visits and school improvement plan
- Other duties as assigned by School Leadership Team

Qualifications
- A valid Colorado Educator License with a Special Education endorsement, in one of the following:
- Special Education Generalist
- Special Education Specialist
- Mild/Moderate Needs
- Teaching experience with diverse special needs populations and an understanding of educational issues relevant to the needs of ED children.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly, facilitating positive relationships across a wide range of constituencies, including students and teammates.
- Strong communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Critical, strategic thinking and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience managing school personnel and educational programming and IEPs.
- Strong communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Permanent US work authorization.
Compensation
The starting salary for this position is between $48,079 and $67,758, depending on education and experience. The maximum salary for this position is approximately $90,000. A comprehensive benefits package is included. Eligibility for the Federal Loan Forgiveness Program.
