Adjunct Faculty, CNA Instructor

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary:
We're seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Allied Health Program in the Montrose CMU campus as an adjunct CNA instructor. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future generation of Certified Nurse Assistants, equipping them for successful careers in healthcare.  
 
Adjunct faculty at CMU are part-time employees who are hired on an as-needed basis. This job ad is to collect applications for qualified lecturers but communication to applicants may be delayed as faculty needs fluctuate. Instructional Responsibilities: 
1. Teach various aspects of the CNA program. 
2. Cover topics such as proper mechanics of patient care, aseptic techniques in healthcare, and/or clinical and lab skills. 
3. Deliver instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and program standards.
 
Professional Development: 
1. Maintain currency in the field of expertise. 
2. Use computer technology to enhance student learning. 

Student Support: 
1. Ensure availability to students for answering questions and providing support outside of the classroom. 
2. Offer opportunities for student engagement through formal office hours, phone call availability, synchronous chat, or other options. 
3. Actively participate in college efforts to enhance student persistence and retention.
 
Commitment to Student Success: 
1. Ensuring students receive thorough and relevant academic content. 
2. Offering individualized support to address unique learning needs. 
3. Providing practical, real-world skills development for a well-rounded education, inspiring confidence, and proficiency in our students' journey toward becoming healthcare professionals. 
4. Ensuring students acquire the necessary hands-on skills for their future roles. 
5. Recognizing and nurturing the unique potential of each student. 

Required Qualifications: 
Expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas:  CNA roles and responsibilities, Long-Term care, clinical and lab skills of the Certified Nurse Assistant. 
A minimum of 4000 hours (approximately 2 years’ full time) related professional work experience within the past 5 years. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Current Registered Nurse licensure. 
Previous experience in ambulatory care.  
Experience in education or clinical instruction. 
Possession of an existing Career and Technical Education Credential or able to obtain this upon hire.

Salary: $600.00 - 850.00 per credit hour. Adjunct faculty are paid on a per credit hour basis, commensurate with education and experience.
