Agency Statement:
The Colorado Office of Public Guardianship (COPG) provides guardianship services to eligible indigent and incapacitated adult individuals who have no responsible family members or friends who are available and appropriate to serve as guardian; lack adequate resources to compensate a private guardian and pay the costs associated with an appointment proceeding; and are not subject to a petition for appointment of guardian filed by a county adult protective services unit or otherwise authorized by C.R.S. § 26-3.1-104. The COPG is mandated to be statewide by December 31, 2030.
Position Purpose and Objectives/Definition of Work:
The Colorado Office of Public Guardianship (COPG) is accepting applications for one (1) Community Engagement Coordinator. This role will be responsible for developing a marketing strategy and creating community partnerships to support current markets and statewide expansion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to further statewide expansion and to increase community awareness and participation in programs and services
- Source, organize and attend local and state-wide events, workshops, and public forums to promote the organization’s mission and build trust
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with courts, hospitals, residential facilities, adult day programs, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and related
- Design and execute compelling marketing materials, including press releases, emails, online and print materials
- Support online reputation efforts by generating and managing communication and responses
- Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and prepare reports for leadership
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers
- Ensure sensitive and inclusive practices in all community interactions
- Performs other related duties as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years experience with marketing and community engagement, experience in social work, medical, non-profit, or related preferred
- Experience creating marketing materials in Canva or other design software
- Creating and maintain a Social Media presence
- Experience creating and managing a budget
- Stellar communication skills, including written, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
- Demonstrated understanding and passion for social work and vulnerable adult populations
- Ability and availability to travel state-wide
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is in a general office environment with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule. Physical demands of the job include frequent talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. Employee may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
