Position Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Hiring Salary: $50,000 annuallyDepartment: Internal Operations

Organizational Relationships: This position directly reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Community Engagement Manager.
Expected Annual Travel: Frequent instate travel
Summary of Functions: This position serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Governor’s Office of Internal Operations and is responsible for supporting the Community Engagement Manager - Outreach & Event Planning and the Deputy Chief of Staff, to support the Governor’s robust community engagement plan across the state and provide support to the Governor’s communications team.
Roles and Responsibilities for the Office of Community Engagement (70%)
Establish and maintain a community engagement database that includes stakeholders, community members and local electeds.
Assists the Community Engagement Manager in coordinating the logistics of earned media events
Assists the Community Engagement Manager in coordinating the Governor’s meetings including but not limited to sending out invitations and reminders, identifying the location, setting up the event and breaking down, etc.
Research upcoming community events and maintain a community engagement calendar.
Coordinates with the Governor’s and Lt. Governor’s scheduling teams and event organizers to schedule community events, when approved, for their attendance.
In coordination with the Director of Advance and scheduling team, plan press/outreach trips outside the Denver-Metro area for the Governor
Staffing the Governor and Lt. Governor at community events as needed.
Attend scheduling meetings to provide input on community events.
Manages Community Engagement intern cohorts
Creates the Community Engagement Newsletter
Administrative Support for the Community Engagement Manager (30%)
Assist Deputy Press Secretary in logistics and set up for press conferences.
Scheduling meetings for the Community Engagement Manager with community leaders in targeted constituency groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred minimum one year experience in volunteer management, community engagement relations, project management, community organizing or other related areas.
Project management skills: ability to multitask, problem-solve, prioritize, delegate, and to create systems and processes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally.
Works well under pressure.
Strong relationship management skills with community interactions.
Experience in and/or working with diverse constituencies and communities of color desired.
Additional language skills desired but not required.
