POSITION PURPOSE
The Tribal-State Gaming Compact and C.R.I.T. Gaming Code calls for the establishment of a Tribal Gaming office and inspection staff. The Tribal Gaining office is to be entirely separate and Independent of the gaming operation. It requires Inspectors to be present in the gaming facility during all hours of gaming operation. The Gaming Agency is the regulatory agency entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the integrity of gaming on the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors casino gaming operations and revenues.
- Determines casino compliance with the Tribal-State Gaming Compact; CRIT Gaming Code and all other regulations concerning gaming.
- Prepares reports, memorandums, and Compact/Appendices Violation Notice.
- May be required to conduct further investigations as needed for any violations.
- Makes routine Inspections of the entire gaming facility as required.
- Performs special Inspections as circumstances warrant.
- Be familiar with the policies and procedures of all departments in the gaming facility, their members, members duties, and departmental chain of command.
- Maintains possession and control of casino slot machine computer board access keys and tamper proof tape.
- Inspects and documents slot machine logic board access and provides forms for the release and receipt of computer chips (EPROM).
- Reviews and audits internal control system to verify that:
- 1) Records are accurate and reliable; 2) assets are safeguarded; 3) access is controlled; 4) action Is taken for any discrepancies; 5) functions, duties and responsibilities are separated and performed by the use of sound practices by competent qualifl8CI personnel.
- Be familiar with:
- a. Tribal-State Gaming Compact and its Appendices
- b. Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. (IGRA)
- c. Class II and Class Ill gaming
- d. all relevant laws, codes and regulations that apply
- Identifies deficiencies in the system of internal controls and recommends appropriate changes.
- Monitors gaming operation surveillance activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Receives complaints from the general public and takes appropriate action.
- Checks the expiration of gaming employee licenses on an ongoing basis.
- Conducts and completes random audit reports for casino departments to ensure compliance with internal control standards.
- Examines, tests, and inspects gaming equipment as required by the Gaming Agency.
- May be required, in the absence of the Supervisor of Inspectors to act as the Lead Inspector.
- In accordance with the CRIT Gaming Code, Tribal Gaming Agency employees shall not gamble in any Gaming Facility run by the Tribal Gaming Enterprises.
- Follows established Tribal policies and those outlined in the Colorado River Indian Tribes' Employee Handbook.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Director or designee to fulfill the Department's needs. objectives and/or goals.
MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED is a minimum requirement.
- Some college courses preferred.
- Two (2) years' work experience in law enforcement or with a regulatory agency.
- Proficient In gaming Industry regulations and organizational operating procedures
Licenses and Certification
- Current valid state issued driver's license is required for employment
- Be able to obtain and maintain a C.R.I.T. Tribal Gaming License and if necessary, an Arizona Department of Gaming State gaming certification.

- Good Investigative report writing skills
- Maintain professional appearance, conduct, and Impartiality in the performance of duties.

- Be constantly observant for any physical hazards or acts/omissions that would jeopardize the safety of patrons or employees.
- Applicant will handle highly confidential information and be bound by a Confidentially Agreement
- Physical and emotional control adequate to meet the demands of assigned duties.
Work environment
This position regularly works Indoors. The noise level in the work environment Is moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with the general public, casino employees, and external agencies.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee Is regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and sit. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Able to deal with and present problem-solving ideas that Involves concrete variables in standardized situations. Background investigations: This position may be subject to a criminal history background check, a suitability background check and/or a Fair· Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) check. In addition, some positions are subject to a 101-630 background check in an effort to ensure compliance with Public Law 101-630 Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act. Candidates must be able to successfully pass all required background checks to qualify for this position.
