***A hybrid telework schedule will be considered for this position; hybrid is defined as a pre-determined blend of working from home and in the office. This position offers two (2) days in the office and three (3) days at home per week.
Colorado Springs Utilities is looking to hire an Applications Intermediate to join our team. In this job, you will support our technology solutions through maintenance and support troubleshooting of both in-house developed and Commercial off-the-shelf systems (COTS) deployed on-site and in public and private clouds. Key application systems supported by this position include the Human Resources and Financial system, Asset, Infor Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), Work Management System, and various applications supporting utility operations and engineering.
Typically, the Intermediate will be expected to work semi-autonomously on moderate to complex incidents, problems, and projects. Possess knowledge and breadth of experience in supporting multiple applications of varying technologies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Creates, maintains, and monitors applications and programs and ensures proper functionality and system reliability
- Works directly with requestors and stakeholders on incident resolutions and change requests
- Creates, updates, and maintains database tables and other data management structures
- Creates and maintains query algorithms and reports
- Maintains data integrity within applications
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses software and database issues
- Analyzes customer requests by gathering data requirements and determining solutions for application development and report writing
- Performs research on technical software and related questions
- Upgrades vendor software
- Performs file, application, or database server back-ups
- Provides technical assistance to end users and help desk staff
- Provides on-call technical support for scheduled/batch processes
- Monitors programming and technology changes
- Plan, create, improve, and maintain procedures and documentation related to the administration of software applications, system and architecture design, implementation and back-out plans, user management, and system release management
- Rotational On-Call support of mission-critical applications 7x24 may be required, without compensation
- Troubleshoot and resolve production application/system issues
- Configure and refine system monitoring and alerts
- Coordinates with vendor support for issue resolutions, patching, system upgrades, and release management
- Managing small application-related projects to include requirements gathering and assessment, high-level design, effort estimations, and ROI analysis
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in applications or related programming or support areas
Highly Desirable Experience:
- System monitoring tools and techniques
- ITIL certification
- Experience administering and supporting Asset/Work Management and AutoCAD systems is highly beneficial.
