Description
Facilities Supervisor, supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of building, grounds, and facilities systems.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees union staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
- Manage issues to resolution involving building services, including parking, heating/cooling, security, and fire alarm systems.
- Plans and schedules the work of the section, department, or organization to make maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, and material within budgetary requirements.
- Assigns employees to jobs, instructs them in proper performance of work and familiarizes them with company rules and regulations.
- Coordinates, where appropriate, the functions performed under his jurisdiction with those performed under other supervisors.
- Arranges for proper maintenance and good housekeeping of machines, equipment, and facilities for which he is responsible.
- Maintains, repairs and services buildings and facilities.
- Works on projects involving construction, alteration or modification of existing building and facilities.
- Assist with Environmental Health and Safety events.
- Assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years related experience including management of facilities and maintenance teams.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain productive working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with Company guidelines.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to hear and speak to employees and external associates on the phone and in person.
