GOLF MAINTENANCE TECH 1
The goal of the position is to achieve the following:
Under supervision, perform journeyman level work in the operation of tools and light equipment used in the construction and maintenance of a golf course.
The candidate must be able to assume the following responsibilities:
Operates large motorized power mowing equipment
Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools and light equipment necessary to the maintenance of the golf courses
Mows greens, tees, fairways and rough
Applies fertilizer as directed
Places portable sprinklers or hand-watering critical areas as directed
Changes cups on greens and move tee markers
Trims and rakes sand traps
Maintains golf ball washers
Rakes leaves, cut weeds and fell trees/branches when necessary
Assists in installing, repairing and maintaining sprinkler and drainage systems
Performs preventive maintenance work on equipment
Facilitates and assist in the repair of motorized and mechanical equipment
Must be able to perform manual labor tasks involving lifting 75 pound bags of fertilizer or seed, digging or raking using hand tools, bending frequently to perform various tasks and operating small equipment requiring pushing and pulling.
