We began as an engineering firm in support of nuclear cleanup operations for the U.S. Department of Energy at Hanford in Richland, Washington. Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance & Control Inspector (QA/QC Inspector), under general direction from the QA Manager, follows a quality assurance system to ensure adherence to standards provided by government regulation, customer specifications and Company requirements related to product quality. This role maintains a customer specific quality program and supports supplier development and compliance to contract requirements. The QA/QC Inspector positions are open to intermediate to experienced level candidates who are excited to perform the job functions and committed to continuous improvement and development requirements.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Work independently or on a team to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform limited physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions.
- Keep the work environment clean, safe, and orderly.
- Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during the daily activities of cutting, machining and fabricating to customer requirements using various codes and standards.
- Inspects materials and products for conformance to specifications using measuring and test equipment.
- Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer approved quality assurance plans/policies and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspection, and final end item inspections.
- Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspections, monitor and/or perform process surveillance using witnessing/monitoring techniques and verify test result/documentation of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies per approved inspection documents/specification requirements.
- Perform material receipt inspections and perform quality reviews of procurements or purchase orders.
- Work with company and customer personnel to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.
- Reports quality problems to supervisor and follows up to ensure the corrective action has/will take place.
- Support departmental and company training objectives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write and comprehend both verbal communications and written directions including GD&T call-outs, engineered drawings, blueprints, technical charts and specification sheets.
- Proficiency with basic measuring equipment (tape measure, caliper, micrometer, etc.).
- Intermediate experience using advanced measuring equipment (FARO Arm, CMM, Micro-Vu, Etc.)
- Must pass an employment record, criminal background check and a drug screen (drug and alcohol free workplace).
- This employment opportunity involves government contracts. Per those contract requirements, applicants must provide proof of US citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working to NQA-1 and/or ISO 9001 Programs
- Experience performing or witnessing B31.1 or B31.3 Hydrostatic or Pneumatic Testing
- Experience inspecting and testing Industrial Control Panels built to UL 508A or UL 698A

Physical Requirements:
- Employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift for extended portions of the workday.
- Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials, controls and tools repetitively.
- May be required to lift, carry and move up to 40lbs.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
- Will be required to work in hot/cold/damp environments.
Working Conditions while Performing Essential Functions:
This position is performed in a shop setting. The atmosphere is fast paced and deadline oriented with focus on safety and quality.
