Position Description
The Maintenance Technician is a mid-level maintenance worker responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, report and maintain production and facility equipment. This position conducts all activities in accordance with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the locations business goals and objectives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Install, maintain and overhaul facility and production-related equipment.
Maintain production-related facilities in the applicable geographic region.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production-related equipment and/or mobile equipment and vehicles, and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during service.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of various pieces of machinery.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose moderately complex maintenance issues, seek out continuous improvement opportunities, and provide input and recommendations. When appropriate, lead continuous improvement efforts.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of all safety policies and standards related to position. Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations, take appropriate action to ensure safety of self and others in building.
Provides guidance to team members with less experience or knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Consults with Location Manager when necessary to manager costs of repair or replacement.
Works with a limited degree of supervision, but responsible for escalating situations to Location Manager as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GDE equivalent required, Associates Degree in related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience
