- Operates dump trucks, back hoes, tractors, weed eaters, leaf blowers, zero turn mower, and chipper.
- Picks up trash and mows grass.
- Assists in planting trees.
- Assists the inmate detail.
- Maintains grounds equipment. Inspects trucks and other equipment.
- Flags traffic at work sites.
- Transports material to and from maintenance sites as needed.
- Responds to 911 calls.
- Assists in the maintenance of facilities for special events.
- Reads maps.
- Performs equipment inventories.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the operation of dump trucks, back hoes, tractors, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and chippers.

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching.
