Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hard-working Chip Seal Crew Laborer to support roadway maintenance and paving operations. This position assists with chip seal application, site preparation, traffic awareness, and general labor duties to ensure safe and efficient job completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with chip seal operations, including spreading aggregate and asphalt emulsion
- Work alongside equipment operators, truck drivers, and crew leads
- Load, unload, and move tools, materials, and equipment
- Perform handwork such as shoveling, raking, sweeping, and cleanup
- Set up and remove job site signage, cones, and barricades as directed
- Maintain a clean and organized work site
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Perform other general labor tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior construction, paving, or roadway maintenance experience is a plus
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a crew
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- OSHA 10 certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and use hand tools throughout the day
Work Schedule
- Mon-Fri with occasional Saturday (rare)
- Extended hours during the chip seal season allowing for weekly overtime
