What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance position at Comfort Suites?
Summary:
The purpose of the Maintenance position is to ensure that the hotel is well maintained and operating
efficiently with the direction of the General Manager. The goal of the Engineering
department is to provide superior customer service and operate the hotel to assure the highest possible
level of guest satisfaction and optimal operation of hotel grounds and facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Daily walk throughs and inspection of property inside and out
- Maintain record keeping of preventative maintenance
- Respond to work orders in a timely manner
- Communicate with staff to ensure proper communication is given to the guests.
- Inspect and document physical facility, equipment hazards, systems, and general engineering
operation.
- Communicate with departments to ensure all equipment is in working order
- Report any major equipment failures that cannot be fixed with employee’s skills
- Watch for safety violations or hazards and report when needed
- Communicate with outside vendors when instructed by management
- Assist with lock issues as needed
- Respond and prioritize maintenance requisitions and guests requests to ensure guests receive quality service and furnishings
- Other duties as assigned or as needed to create signature moments for our guests
- Review, comply with, all aspects of the employee handbook.
For Safety and Security:
- Be proficient and train staff in Safety and Security Policies
- Report any suspicious activity of guest, visitors or staff
- Announce presence before entering guest rooms
- Maintains security for guests and property by keeping room doors locked at all times
- Write up Guest Incident reports as needed
- Perform duties in accordance with Safety and Security Policies
- Perform duties in accordance with OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations
