In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will provide administrative and clerical support to the Northwest Air Quality Program.  Responsibilities include notifying facilities of expiring Plan Approvals and various permits for a timely renewal process, as well as work with the Air Quality staff to assure an up-to-date inspection is completed. Compose letters, modify and update current mailing list of facility addresses, and process completed forms as instructed.  Produce an expiration letter to send to facility; develop a query using various formulas to determine which facility permits are expiring; and maintain a spreadsheet for permit tracking.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.  
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Meadville, PA.
  • Salary:  Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
