As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform routine work in the preparation of meals and sanitation of food preparation and serving areas at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. Key duties of the position include cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other kitchen items; preparing trays, measuring portions, serving food, and transporting trays, carts, and nourishment; using equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment (8.0 hours a day; 40 hours bi-weekly)
- Work hours are 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, every Thursday and Friday off, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous food service worker experience
- Willingness to work in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania
- Willingness to work part-time, 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with every Thursday and Friday off
- Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operation
- Experience interacting with patients, residents, or customers while serving food/cleaning in patient/resident rooms or a dining room setting
- Experience working with food safety and sanitation in a dietary department
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
