What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Security Specialist 2 position at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania?
This position will serve as an agency Information Security Specialist 2 and will report directly to the agency Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The Security Specialist will focus on cybersecurity program requirements and to what extent controls are in place to protect sensitive information. This position focuses on identifying and mitigating risk in the cyber domain, including business continuity and disaster recovery. Lead, coach and support the professional development of level 1 Security Specialists.
The Security Specialist will act as a first line of response for daily cybersecurity activities and inquiries from IT and business personnel. Key responsibilities include leading program security projects, security issue tracking, third party risk management, risk management routines such as risk register governance and process risk assessment, security architecture design, security systems and application administration, cybersecurity consulting and incident response.The position has analytical and consultative responsibilities for implementation and on-going maintenance of the agency’s information security software and devices. The Security Specialist works closely with the agency IT Team, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Information Security Team and Vendor Information Security Teams. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework). This is a teleworking position in Pennsylvania that requires the incumbent to report to the
Harrisburg office a minimum of one day a month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. - Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Security Specialist 1; or
- Three years of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
- One year of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and a bachelor’s degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
