Community National Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY
Provides analytical services for consumer and commercial loans, in support of the Loan Officers at Community National Bank. Position will focus on evaluating the financial condition of businesses and individuals applying for credit with the Bank and provide an independent credit review and risk assessment of such loan requests.
DUTIES
- Compiles information and analyzes loan applications.
- Prepares comparison spreads and ratios, analysis reports and presents questions/concerns to loan officers, and requests for additional information.
- Assesses credit quality of loan applicants.
- Analyzes collateral to determine if available and appropriate.
- Communicates information with customers, loan officers, and/or management.
- Reviews credit reports and title work.
- Makes recommendations on loan structuring.
- Requests loan documentation for approved loans, reviews loan documents and provides information/recommendations to loan officer(s).
- Ensures all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with prescribed lending policy.
- Scans loan documents into designated system for filing/record retention compliance.
- Participates in business calls and/or customer meetings with loan officers as requested and prepares documentation on such meetings.
- Tracks loan covenants and reports exceptions.
- Tracks application status, approval and loan policy exceptions.
- May attend loan signing with customer and/or loan officer.
- Prepares all necessary credit analysis work for review by Loan Officers, Loan Committee and attends/participates in the weekly loan committee meetings.
- Completes all necessary loan department and Board reports accurately and within scheduled deadlines.
- Completes special projects and other tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS
- Minimum of 9 credit hours in accounting
- 2-3 years of experience in commercial underwriting perferred
- Fiserv and Suntel experience is a plus
- Experience in analyzing financial statements and tax returns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a strong analytical skills and clear understanding of general accounting and time value of money
- Extensive knowledge in MS Word and Excel required
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver projections within the time guidelines
- Ability to work independently while having a strong commitment to team goals
