What is the position: To perform regular maintenance and repair of aircraft wheels and tires.
Essential Functions:
Maintain and repair aircraft wheels including replacement of worn tires.
While preferred, this position does not require any previous aviation maintenance experience.
Incumbent will work under the supervision of a Certificated Technician on various aircraft maintenance tasks.
Perform maintenance work on company aircraft wheels and tires at our maintenance base shop including but not limited to dismantling, repairing, assembling all aircraft wheels and tires and components.
Complete all necessary paperwork in accordance with company, manufacturer, and FAA requirements.
Maintain work area, and tools in clean and safe working conditions.
Ensure hazardous materials storage is frequently inspected and ensure proper labeling, containers, and location in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions at CommuteAir.
Other duties as assigned.
General requirements & qualifications
Mechanically incline, no specific experience is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some mechanical training is a plus.
Positive attitude toward learning and following company policies.
Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly
Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
Legally authorized to work in the USA.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force consistently to move objects. Includes extended periods of standing and moving about on foot regularly.
Ability to reach, bend, crouch, kneel, and move about in small spaces.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs occasionally.
Visual Acuity
Machine operators and visual inspection includes office administrative functions:
Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines using measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts with or without corrective lenses.
Environmental Conditions:
Both indoor and outside environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside. May be exposed to extreme temperatures (over 100 degrees and/or under 32 degrees) occasionally.
Able to work in a loud, noisy environment at times. PPE may be required.
