Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for maintaining the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open internal positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for internal openings.
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Implements new hire orientation for internal and external employees.
• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and occupational health and safety.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
• Associates Degree required.
• At least one year of human resources experience preferred.
• Sensitivity to confidential matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle pressure, prioritize workload and delegate when appropriate.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
• Appearance is professional and complies with Blossom’s dress code.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, pull, climb, reach, and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities.
• Pass a physical examination after being offered employment and complete a health assessment annually thereafter.
• Possess a current, valid New York State driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Completion of Blossom's orientation program.
