Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an HR Generalist to our DU Support Team in Rochester, NY. As the HR Generalist, you will support each of our locations and ensure the compliance of standard legal practices throughout our division. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the compliance of annual required company and state trainings, legal postings, law changes, and team member handbook and policies
- Conducts the annual I-9 audit and makes recommendations/corrections as required
- Maintains job descriptions to ensure compliance with Affirmative Action and The Fair Labor Standards
- Creates and maintains organizational charts for our division
- Trains leaders on internal processes such as affirmative action, new hires, documentation, terminations and job changes
- Investigates and mediates through employee relation concerns that may arise
- Other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of schooling and experience
- Two to 5 years’ experience in Human Resources working with confidential information
- Able to relate work tasks to key organizational objectives and vision
- Able to read and understand complex text (ie: regulations or policy)
- Proven computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite of Products), with advanced Excel skills a plus
- High aptitude for customer service
- Prioritization and management of multiple tasks
- Dependable, accurate, detail oriented, and a be a self-start who takes initiative and anticipates needs
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with all levels of management, internal and external customers and team members
- Possess a strong work ethic and be a team player, while maintaining a confidential work environment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- SHRM or PHR certification a plus, but not required
- Valid State Driver’s License
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment with moderate noise levels
- Mostly sedentary role with the need to move about the office to copy, scan, fax and file
- May require the light lifting of storage boxes
- May require consistent time spent on the computer and phone throughout the day
- May require travel to other locations from time to time

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $58,000-$65,000
