Job Summary:
Manages the workflow by assigning production assembly tasks to technicians. Responsible for guiding, coaching, developing technicians, monitoring their productivity and will focus on continual improvement. Ensure production output meets contract requirements and delivery dates.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure we maintain a culture & practice of hard work ethic and quality on the build floor
- Ensure technicians take extreme pride in their work and the products they build
- Ensure assembly time targets are at a minimum met for all production builds but strive for continual improvement and increased efficiency
- Ensure time recording accuracy in all time keeping methods
- Technician efficiency accountability
- Technician quality accountability
- Support recruitment, interviewing, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as required
Other Job Functions:
- Ensure productivity and work output of technicians with a continual improvement mindset
- Minimize small talk/gossip, personal cell phone usage, recreational computer usage, etc.
- Ensure staff maintain a clean and professional work space
- Time sheet review and approval
- Conflict resolution
- Employee skill and technical development
- Develop a weekly review program for the performance of individual technicians
- Ensure staff work up to defined hours
- Assignment of task – Task shall be assigned to personnel that have the training, knowledge, skills, and efficiency needed to do what is expected
- Ensure all production personal are following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Assist in the evaluation and appraisal employees’ performance and follow-up with proper documentation.
Requirements
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
- 5 years minimum experience in a Supervisory/Leading role in a fast pace work environment
- 5 years minimum experience in Coaching, Leading and Developing staff
- 5 years minimum experience with management including: recruitment, interviewing, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as required
- General electro-mechanical skills including common hand tools
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new information and skills
- General computer skills including Microsoft Office products (email and spreadsheets)
- Ability to work within a production team environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- 10 years experience in Supervising/Leading Contract Manufacturing teams
- 10 years minimum experience with management including: recruitment, interviewing, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as required
- 5 years experience and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma for manufacturing
- Proficient ability to read and interpret electro-mechanical drawings and bills of material
- Proficient with mechanical and electrical assembly work including assembly, tooling, and test
- Familiar with work instructions and has the ability to improve/optimize assembly process
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level. Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents.
