- Regularly monitor the student's blood glucose levels and respond appropriately to fluctuations.
- Administer insulin or other prescribed medications as needed, following established care plans.
- Ensure that the student's medication is administered accurately and on schedule.
- Communicate with parents/guardians and healthcare providers about the student's medication needs and any changes in condition.
- Observe and assist the student with behaviors that may be related to blood sugar fluctuations, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Provide support and reassurance to the student during episodes of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
- Work closely with teachers and school staff to ensure the student's needs are met in the classroom environment.
- Keep emergency contact information and supplies readily available at all times.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for the student.
- Participate in meetings and provide updates on the student's health status and care plan.
- Educate school staff on the student's condition and how they can support the student's needs.
