Job Title: Utility Locator
Location: Kansas City, MO
Duration: 4 months Contract
Schedule:7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20/hr on W2
Job Summary
The Screening Coordinator I is responsible for protecting our underground telecommunication utilities through correctly, safely, and efficiently determining the need for these utilities to be field located. The Screening Coordinator I will assist with handling external emails and voicemails regarding locate questions from Field Ops and Contractors and additional duties as assigned by management.
Duties & Responsibilities
90%
• Use company ticket management software to appropriately assign or close One Call Tickets
• Use GIS map to research and understand utility routes
10%
• Handle external emails and voicemails regarding locate questions
• Work with OSP (Outside Plant) to resolve unlocatable fiber issues
• Work with contract locators to resolve locate issues
• Notify OSP (Outside Plant) and Contract Locators of confirmed damages
• Continue to develop skills in interpreting maps and comprehending One Call Tickets
Qualifications
▪ Education: High school diploma, some college preferred
▪ Experience: 1 years’ experience using irth Utilisphere or other One Call Ticket Management software, Locator, One Call Center or GIS experience preferred
Key Competencies:
o Knowledge of One Call Program
o Knowledge of telecom utility infrastructure
o Strong attention to detail
o Accurate and efficient reading comprehension skills
o Ability to communicate professionally via email and phone
o Ability to work independently and stay on-task in remote environment
o Basic computer skills in MS Office Suite
