Machine Operator / Carton - 2nd Shift

The Machine Operator is responsible the following operating, managing efficient operation of the carton equipment, facilitating the packing of finished product promptly, completing all required paperwork promptly, and observing all safety regulations and ensuring GMP and quality standards are met.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
• Read, write, and comprehend written English.
• Move up to 40 lbs.

Job Duties:

• Obtain daily schedule and supplies needed for production
• Complete required paperwork electronically in English promptly (e.g., centerline, CI inspections, minor stop tracking)
• Complete centerlines and set-up equipment and validate accuracy
• Perform safety check on equipment being used to ensure it is functioning properly
• Maintain efficient operation of equipment
• Ensure and validate proper supplies are staged in the 5S location (numbers, versions on labels )
• Fill and load machine with necessary material
• Verify material is in specification based on product standards (codes, specifications, ect.)
• Clear minor jams, reset and start equipment
• Fill and load machine based on production runs
• Ensure good housekeeping (e.g., sweeping, mopping)
• Participate in PM, drumbeat, and AMD activities as assigned (varying start times)
• Can read a work order and receive verbal instructions from supervisors/leads
• May perform general labor duties as assigned
• Downtime tracking in English

Skills Required:

• Understand the effects of product damage and loss
• Knowledge of GMP's
• Ability to be LOTO and ASM certified
• Ability to work with pork, chicken, beef and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens
• Ability to be PIT certified
• Submit work orders

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum 3 months' production or related experience required.
