What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Coordinator position at Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Comm?
Starting Wage Range: $29.76/hr. - $38.39/hr.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in ensuring organizational development, career development and training initiatives are aligned with and support both entities.
- Assists with assessing training needs and identifies vendors in relation to training materials, establishes costs, and provides training recommendations to the Department manager.
- Assists in delivering high-impacting experiences through the use of techniques that maximize learner participation, comprehension and application of the material.
- Assists with Designing and developing training content in accordance with departmental requirements.
- Helps coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and employee training on a variety of topics including but not limited to, guest service, teamwork, and ethics.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of training records, reports, and documentation.
- Assists in the development of Program strategies that will ensure employees’ success as they establish and develop their careers.
- Assists with creating and managing a variety of program scopes associated with employee training, and retention including skills/abilities assessments, applicable testing, and matching higher education opportunities.
- Assists with creating innovative work experience programs, mentorships, internships and externship opportunities.
- Assists in designing, developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing employee recognition and reward programs that align with the business needs.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
- Requires an Associate’s Degree in a related field of study and two (2) years of training in organizational/career development experience.
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training certifications and experience.
- Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
Driving Requirements:
- This position may require driving.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Requires knowledge of organizational theory and development principles, including adult learning and motivational theories, learning strategies for diverse learning populations, and training design principles and methods.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and intermediate level computer software applications in addition to other tools and educational materials relative to training is required
- Flexibility to train on a wide variety of topics required.
- Ability to analyze data and assess both strategic training needs and the effectiveness of past training required.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to prepare accurate written reports and training materials.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture is required.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to cover 24/7 business operations.
- Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
- Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
- This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.
- May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
- Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
