Without direct supervision, perform all operations to bond, seal, and laminate parts, coordinating the various processes as required. Perform rework operations on complex parts, including necessary test coupons to qualify the process.
Perform random tests on bonding and lamination processes and work with feeder/engineering personnel to develop new processes and the sequence of operations.
Independently, perform tests on plating and treating solutions such as determining ph and/or specific gravity per schedule and test specification and record results. Insure that the specified additions of chemicals to plating and/or treating solutions are made. Develop required fixtures for plating processes.
Monitor, analyze and adjust automated plating processes using data entry equipment such as CRT terminal and/or local controller.
Interpret silkscreen requirements from drawings and apply markings. Request artwork for new silkscreens. Print artwork, if necessary, build new silkscreens or rework old silkscreens per engineering changes.
Extract part dimensions from engineering models to fully understand required tasks.
Bond foam by roll-coating or spraying as required. Perform necessary processes to obtain good test coupons or panels for verifying and adjusting machine operations.
Copy files from workstation to build station and SLA, or equivalent processes. Preview build for errors. Start build and monitor progress.
Remove parts from the SLA and clean as appropriate using a specified process. Remove parts from platform using a variety of knives and then carefully remove support structure from part without damaging the part itself. Place part in PCA for specified amount of time to finish curing.
Hand sand rapid prototype epoxy parts to /- .005" tolerance using various grit sandpaper. Critical finishing relies on the individual to identify markings left by the build process and to finish to these markings. The individual is expected to be able to develop, modify or create manufacturing aids to sand specific unique parts
Using hand-held, high intensity UV light source, fix parts that were broken, fill holes for quick cast build style, bond parts together and use in critical situations on the SLA to cure resin in the vat to save builds that developed problems while building.
