This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes and leading plant-wide engineering initiatives. Reports to the Engineering Manager and works closely with operations, maintenance, and safety leadership.
Select Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve workplace safety, including welding optimization and layout redesign.
- Oversee cross-functional projects, including budget tracking, contractor coordination, and execution of capital initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to resolve persistent manufacturing issues.
- Act as an internal expert on mechanical systems, controls, pneumatics, and production tooling.
- Collaborate on safety audits and help champion a proactive safety culture across departments.
- Use CAD and simulation tools to model and improve production workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred knowledge in Welding or certification (CWI)
- Lean, 5S, or time study experience preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, and controls
- Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar)
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
